Lynn was a lifelong resident of Point Pleasant, a member of the DAR, and participated in many civic activities. Lynn was the manager and co-owner of Kirkland Memorial Gardens, and she was a member of Christ Episcopal Church where she served on the vestry and was church historian. She was an avid gardener and was honored by receiving the Yard of the Month award.
Lynn was born August 1, 1935 in Kaylong, a daughter of the late Homer S. and Virginia E. (Knight) Smith. In addition to her parents, Lynn also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Boggs.
Lynn is survived by one son, Kevin Durst of Point Pleasant; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan L. (Ray) Patrick of Hurricane; her longtime companion, Jack Fowler of Point Pleasant; one sister, Nancy S. Jewell of Charleston; and her grandchildren, Lauren Durst, Seth Patrick, Kelsey Patrick and Jarrod Durst. She also is survived by a niece, Heather Martin; two nephews, Gregory Jewell and Eric Jewell; along with two great nephews and four great nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 13, at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Ray Hage officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens near Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held at the church from 4-8 p.m., Saturday evening and half an hour prior to the service on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Christ Episcopal Church Endowment Fund.
