Betty Jean Kearns, 79, of West Columbia, went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2011, at Pleasant Valley Hospital.

She was born on June 9, 1931 in Reedsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Floyd and Lucy (Deeter) Barringer. She was a member of the Clifton United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Gibbs; and brothers, Floyd Jr., Gerald, and Dorsel Barringer.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Kearns of West Columbia; son, George (Christine) Kearns of West Columbia; daughters, Debra (Stephen) Hoschar of Mt. Orab, Ohio, and Shirley (Joe) Miller of Middleport, Ohio; son, Patrick (Betsy) Kearns of Pomeroy, Ohio; grandchildren, Sierra Kearns, Joseph Kearns, Jessica Alexander, Tonya Lambeth, Ruth Ann Hoschar, Tammy Klein, Michelle Hawkins, Amanda Tope, Christina Arnold, Tyler Kearns, and Chelsi Kearns; step grandchildren, Ryan and Dyana Hawthorne; great grandchildren, Madison Klein, Sylvia Klein, Kristy McKnight, Katie Hawkins, Elliot Tope, Hunter Hawthorne, Cavin Hawthorne, Sedona Alexander, Cameron Alexander, Brice Alexander, and Shane Lambeth; and sister, Lori Smith of Reedsville, Ohio.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, at Foglesong-Roush Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Rowe officiating. Burial followed in Zerkle Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
