POINT PLEASANT — Country superstars, Thompson Square, entertained the Point Pleasant Sternwheel Regatta crowd on Saturday.

The band, which was the festival’s headlining entertainment act, performed at the Point Pleasant Riverfront Park. Many people came out to see the duo in concert, which along with fireworks, closed out the 2011 Regatta.

Jacob Hill, chairman of the Regatta, described Thompson Square as one of the “best acts” that the festival has had in a long time. As a token of appreciation to the band, Hill along with members of the Regatta Committee, presented Thompson Square with a “Point Pleasant Gift Basket” prior to Saturday’s performance.

Thompson Square is comprised of the husband and wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson. The Thompson’s are signed to Stoney Creek Records, a sister label of Broken Bow Records. Along with their hit single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not,” the duo has released the single, “Let’s Fight.”
