She was born May 23, 1917 in Henderson, a son of the late James Thomas Mayes and Molly Frances (Arthur) Mayes.
Louise was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Point Pleasant. She was retired from Lakin Hospital and had worked at various restaurants and schools in Point Pleasant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Atha Guy “Ace” Rayburn and Edward R. Caynor; three brothers, Robert Mayes, Lloyd Mayes, and Dewey Mayes; five sisters, Virginia Patterson, Madeline Moore, Bonnie Waldie, Delphia Noble, and Doris Wyant; a daughter-in-law, Geraldine “Furrie” Rayburn; and a grandson-in-law, Robert L. Pumphrey.
Louise is survived by her son, Nelson Rayburn of Point Pleasant; three grandchildren, Brett Rayburn of Point Pleasant, Valerie (Chuck) Walters of Point Pleasant, and Melanie Pumphrey of Point Pleasant; two sisters, Jean Casto of Point Pleasant, and Eva Long of Pittsburg, Pa.; six great grandchildren, Chad (Courtney) Walters, Ryan (Reida) Walters, Dane Walters, Cody Pumphrey, Robby (Meegan) Pumphrey II, Gera Pumphrey; six great great grandchildren, Owen Walters, Nathaniel Ace Pumphrey, Robby Pumphrey III, Ava Walters, Landon Pumphrey, and Rilynn Walters; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Private burial will be in Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
