MARIETTA, Ohio — Meigs High School graduate Cassady Willford — a third year starter at center for Heidelberg — will be playing on Saturday, October 22 at Marietta College.
Willford is a 6-foot-2, 280 pounder and is one of the anchors of the line for Heidelberg. On October 8, the Student Princes defeated previously undefeated Muskingum 17-7 to run their record to 4-1 and 3-1 in the OAC. Last Saturday the Student Princes lost their second game of the year to the nations number 2 team in Mount Union, the Raiders are currently on a 52 game regular season winning streak.
Willford will be coming home so to speak, on October 22, when he will help lead the Student Princes against the Pioneers of Marietta College in Marietta at 1:30 p.m. in an OAC contest.
Willford contributed to a strong line that aided in setting the new single-season record for touchdown passes in 2009. He played on the junior varsity and varsity team as a freshman playing defense; he made an varsity appearance against Westminster (September 6, 2008) in a varsity game and had a tackle.
The former All TVC performer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Willford of Rutland, and will graduate in the spring with a degree is Criminal Justice.
