Raymond Kenneth Zuspan, 74, went home to be with the Lord, Friday February 24, 2012 at his residence.
Raymond was born on July 24, 1937, in Sassafras. He was one of nine children. Raymond served in the U.S. Army from 1962-65 and was in the Army Reserve for five years and completed his education in service. He retired as a bus driver for Mason County Schools after 27 years. He was a full time farmer and sold wood for years. Raymond was a founder and leader of the Sassafras 4-H club and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was connected to the New Haven United Methodist Church. He was a longtime volunteer with the WV Farm Museum.
He was preceded in death by his parents I.K. Zuspan and Eunice Selby Zuspan; brother, Charles Hylton Zuspan.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Gail Zuspan of 48 years; three children, Raymond Kenneth Jr. of Bealton, Va.; Fred and Sonia of West Columbia; Ira Jay and Mary Lou of Manassas, Va.; grandchildren, Elijah, Ezra, Kelsey, Colton and Austin; sisters, Helen (Sam) Halstead of New Haven, Mary Froendt of West Columbia, Ruth Smith of Warrenton, Va., Berthan Ann (Robert) Adams of Mcconnellsburg, Pa., Ina Lynn Breeden of California, Md., and Betty (Victor) Johnson of California, Md.; brother, E. Jay Zuspan of New Market, Va.; brother in law, Benjamin (Carol) Banfield of Fairfield, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Foglesong Roush Funeral Home in Mason. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday February 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
