Karen Keim, of Orlando, Fla., and formerly of Mason County, passed away on Saturday evening, March 31, 2012, in Hollywood, Fla.
She was a member of the St. Luke’s Episcopal School. Karen graduated from Rollins College as well as Columbia University. She received her graduate degree from Harvard University and recently finished her master’s degree in Environmental Management.
Karen was a bright woman, who spoke five languages, loved history and learning. In her late 20’s, Karen was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, and she then made it her life’s work to help others who were also afflicted with this disease by speaking to others, visiting Crohn’s patients in the hospital and starting support groups. She enjoyed classical music, needle point and her love of history brought her to research the family genealogy. We were blessed to have her as a member of our family, she will be greatly missed.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar T. Keim and Dorthy Chloe Henry Keim.
The Crow-Hussell Funeral in Point Pleasant has been entrusted with her care. There is an online registry at www.crowhussellfh.com.
