Rex Garrison, 78, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., passed away at his home Sunday evening, April 8, 2012.

Rex was born July 5, 1933, in Point Pleasant, W.Va., a son to the late George and Bonnie (Summerville) Garrison. Rex graduated from Point Pleasant High School, and after graduation he began work at the Kyger Creek Power Plant in 1955 as an Auxiliary Equipment Operator. He moved on to Control Operator, and Unit Foreman until he retired as the Assistant Shift Operating Engineer.

Rex leaves behind three children, Debra Lynn Kee, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Gregory Rex (Olivia) Garrison, of Point Pleasant W.Va., and Kathy Jane (David) Leggett of Winter Haven, Fla.; four grandchildren, Laci Nicole Mitrov, Bryson Tyler MacChione, Willian Gregory Garrison, and David Mitchel MacChione; and a special friend, Margaret Sullivan.

At Rex’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. However, the family would like to invite everyone to an ‘Open House’ to pay respects and to celebrate Rex’s life. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday April 13, 2012, at the home of Rex Garrison, 1003 22nd St., Point Pleasant, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers, Rex requested donations to both Bellemead United Methodist Church and the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Rex’s care has been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. An online registry is available at www.crowhussellfh.com.
