The Mason County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrests: Tara M. Noe, 21, Apple Grove, possession of controlled substance, arrested on April 26 by Terry. Robert L. Stewart, 45, West Columbia, domestic battery, arrested on April 27 by Peterson.

Mason County Magistrate Court

The following preliminary hearings have been scheduled in Mason County Magistrate Court: 3 p.m., Monday, April 30, Elizabeth C. McDermitt, 40, Point Pleasant, charged with kidnapping; 9:30 a.m., May 7, Crystal Hendricks, 43, Mason, charged with one felony count of fraudulent schemes

Mason County Magistrate records also reflect a guilty plea was entered earlier this month by former Mason County Board of Education Member Teresa Warner, Point Pleasant, in relation to a misdemeanor DUI charge. Warner is to pay a $100 fine plus $265.80 in court costs. As part of her plea agreement in Mason County Circuit Court reached earlier this week, the agreement also requests the state ask magistrate court to dismiss a left of center charge in exchange for Warner pleading guilty to DUI. The same plea agreement has Warner agreeing to plea to one count of felony bribery in official and political matters. The remaining five counts of bribery were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. Warner will be sentenced on the felony bribery charge on June 1 in Mason County Circuit Court.

Mason County Circuit Court

Former Mason County Sheriff David L. Anthony is due in Mason County Circuit Court at 11 a.m., Monday, April 30 for sentencing in relation to a plea agreement he accepted last month. Anthony pleaded guilty to the misdemeanors of brandishing a weapon and shooting near a dwelling, as well as no contest to misdemeanor counts of fraudulent scheme and embezzlement.
