POINT PLEASANT — On Wednesday evening, the Mason County Board of Education met for a regular business meeting and approved the following agenda and personnel items.

Approved Minutes, Agenda #11-42, April 19, 2012. Approved Minutes, Agenda #11-43, April 24, 2012.

Approved the employment of Rachel Reynolds, Music/Choir Teacher, New Haven Elementary, to Music/Choir Teacher, Wahama Jr/Sr High School, Job #503-730-P, effective 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Blair Bumgarner, Grade 6 Teacher, New Haven Elementary, Job # 210-382-P, effective 2012-13 school year . County will be the funding source. Ms. Bumgarner is being employed from the Reduction in Force List.

Approved to post the position of Technology Integration Specialist, Central Office Itinerant, effective 2012-13 school year. Step VII will be the funding source. Accepted the resignation of Ronnie McDaniel, Custodian, Point Pleasant Intermediate School, effective June 30, 2012, due to retirement. Approved the transfer of Karen Pauley, Bus Operator, Route 2032 to Bus Operator, Route 113, Job # 014-160-C, effective May 4, 2012. County will be the funding source. Accepted the resignation of Larry King, Custodian, New Haven Elementary School.

Approved the ratification of orders issued, transfers, and supplements. Check Numbers 79628 thru 79770, totaling $492,723.82.

In addition to Superintendent Suzanne Dickens, board members present were Michael Cottrill, Thomas Nunnery, Randy Searls, and Dale Shobe. Board members Matthew Thompson was absent. The Mason County Board of Education will meet again at 6 p.m. on May 17 for a regular business meeting.
