Martha J. Edmonds Stover, 98, of Ashton, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her residence. Martha was born January 27, 1914, in Glenwood, a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mattie Jane Holley Edmonds. She was a homemaker and a member of Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Her hobbies were reading, quilting and working on her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde M. Stover; two daughters, Florine and Maxine Burge; seven sisters; three brothers; and two grandsons, Kelly and Jamie DeVore.

Survivors include one daughter, Wilma Tolliver and husband, Lester, of Lesage; one son, Lonnie Stover of Glenwood; seven grandchildren, Warren “Butch” Smith, Mark Tolliver and Richard Burge all of Lesage, Clyde DeVore and Christopher Rogers, both of Ona, Lonnie Stover II of Glenwood and Amber Donn White of Huntington; seven great-grandchildren, Shane and Brandon Tolliver, John Garrett Smith, Reanna DeVore, Cheryl Nance, Jessica Burge and Richard Burge II; five great-great-grandchildren, Solphia Smith, Jesse Stover, Anna Marie and JJ Nance and Josiah Lee White; one sister, Marie Barker of Glenwood; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday May 6, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary in Huntington with Max Spurlock officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Friends may call after noon at Chapman’s Mortuary on Sunday. Online condolences may be sent to www.chapmans-mortuary.com.
