Amy Florence Dodson, 91, of New Haven, went home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2012. She was born on July 26, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles Wesley Skeen and Rhoda Godbey Skeen. She was a member of the Mason United Methodist Church, Post 140 of the American Legion, Post 9926 of the V.F.W. and Post 960 of the Moose Lodge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Hoyt, Howard and Jerry Skeens; sisters, Hazel Nicholson, Virgie Dewees and Orpha Dewees; grandson, Joedy Dodson; and daughter, Kitty Carlton.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Dodson and his wife, Irma, of Hartford; sister, Linda Wolfe of Vero Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Anderson Funeral Home in New Haven with Pastor Scott Knowlton officiating. Friends and family visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Online condolences can be made at www.andersonfh.com.
