POINT PLEASANT — The Mason County Board of Education recently met and approved the following agenda and personnel items.
Approved Minutes, Agenda #11-45, May 15, 2012. Approved volunteers from New Haven Elementary for the remainder of the 2011-12 school year. Accepted the resignation of Mary Beth Pyles, Home Economics Teacher, Hannan Jr/Sr High, effective May 31, 2012, due to retirement. Accepted the resignation of Paul Sayre, Substitute Teacher, effective May 14, 2012.
Approved the transfer of Kathy Bruner, Bus Operator Route 2024, to Bus Operator, Route 124, Job #014-164-C, effective May 24, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the transfer of Valerie Freeman, Custodian, New Haven Elementary, to Custodian, Point Pleasant Intermediate, Job #218-411-C, effective 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved the transfer of Sherrie Thompson, Custodian, Wahama Jr/Sr High, to Custodian, New Haven Elementary School, Job #210-359-C, effective May 24, 2012. County will be the funding source.
Approved the recommendation of the Reclassification Committee to increase days of employment for Diana Bodkin, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High Secretary, from 225 days to 240 days, effective July 1, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the recommendation of the Reclassification Committee to reclassify Betty Matheny from Secretary III to Executive Secretary, effective July 1, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the recommendation of the Reclassification Committee to reclassify Anita Sayre from Secretary III to Executive Secretary, effective July 1, 2012. County will be the funding source.
Accepted the resignation of Paul Sayre, Seventh Grade Boys Basketball Coach, Wahama Jr/Sr High, effective May 14, 2012. Approved the ratification of orders issued, transfers, and supplements. Check numbers 79958 through 79998, totaling $93,005.65.
In addition to Superintendent Suzanne Dickens, board members present were Michael Cottrill, Thomas Nunnery, Randy Searls, Dale Shobe, and Matthew Thompson.
The Mason County Board of Education will meet again at 6 p.m. on May 29, for a special budget meeting, and again at 6:30 p.m. on May 29, for a student disciplinary hearing/regular business meeting.
