On Tuesday, city officials were filling the Harmon Park Pool after the opening of the pool was delayed due to a major leak. That major leak has been fixed and the electrical system upgraded. Mayor Brian Billings said some other additional, minor leaks were found but in order to completely fix these, concrete would have to be removed which would have caused the opening to be further delayed. Billings said these minor leaks will be addressed after the pool closes for the season. As for when it will officially open this summer, that remains up in the air. Billings said officials are watching the water level in the pool this week to make sure it remains consistent and hopefully this happens for the pool party booked this Saturday. He also said with the major leak fixed, the pool will be in better shape than it’s been in years. Information on the pool’s opening day, hours and admissions prices will appear in the Point Pleasant Register as it becomes available.
