POINT PLEASANT — The 22nd Annual Point Pleasant Sternwheel Regatta is scheduled to go out with a bang Saturday night when fireworks begin at 10 p.m. at Tu-Endie-Wei Park.

Saturday is the start of the Regatta’s last day which is also one of its busiest.

Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday is the 5K River Run which begins across from the Point Pleasant River Museum. Then, the Regatta Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. with lineup beside the Mason County School Board’s Central Office. A car show immediately follows the parade.

For anyone wanting to get in a bit of cornhole, they’re in luck with the competition starting at noon at Tu-Endie-Wei Park.

Saturday is also Kid’s Day at the Regatta which is from noon to 4 p.m. also at Tu-Endie-Wei. Several different activities are planned for the younger folks at the park and of course carnival games are available up and down Main Street for those wanting to win that big prize.

First mates and captains alike are typically all aboard for the Line Throw which starts at 2 p.m. also at Tu-Endie-Wei Park.

Saturday’s musical entertainment gets going at 6 p.m. when the group BlueGrass takes the stage at Tu-Endie-Wei Park. Also at 6 p.m., but in the Riverfront Park Amphitheatre, is the WBYG Texaco Country Showdown. Then, at 8:30 p.m. at the Riverfront Park Chase Likens will rock the stage for all the “Likens Lovers” who will no doubt show up to hear the former American Idol finalist.

After the fireworks, the party isn’t quite over yet when Rockin’ Reggie once again spins the turntables and keeps the crowd entertained on Main Street.
