Claud W. Joins Jr., 84, of South Charleston and formerly of Point Pleasant, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.

Claud had retired from Kaiser/Ravenswood Aluminum and was a member of Davies Grove Baptist Church in Letart. He will always be remembered for his love of the Lord.

Born Feb. 9, 1925 in Avondale, he was a son to the late Claud and Eva (Chapel) Joins Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Blankenship; and a brother, Harlan R. Joins.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Maynard) Joins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rusty and Denise Joins of South Charleston and Randel and Kim Joins of Duluth, Ga.; a daughter, Gale Neal of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Jimmy and Vicki Neal, Lisa Bigham, Matthew Flahive and Kylie, Shannon, Rachel, Evan and Ian Joins; great-grandchildren, Michael and Keith Neal and Shane and Chase Bigham; and a sister, Carrie Kidd of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with the Rev. Mark Parsons II OSL officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery in Flatrock. Visitation will be at the funeral home 5-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday.
