POINT PLEASANT — The West Virginia State Farm Museum will be holding its annual Country Fall Festival beginning on Saturday, Oct. 6.
One of the biggest events of the year for the farm museum, the festival will feature activities and events for many to enjoy. At the festival on Saturday, there will be a Gunslingers Show at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Antique Tractor Pull at 1 p.m. Also on Saturday will be the Mason County CEOS Quilt Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7. Also on Sunday there will be church services at 9 a.m. and then a gospel sing at 1:30 p.m.
Other events and attractions at the festival with no time specified include the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Show, the Gravely Swap Meet, a working saw mill, and the Antique Bottle Show, as well as the farm museum’s Country Kitchen and Store.
There will also be locals making apple butter, apple cider, vegetable soup, and sorghum which will all be for sale. It was reported that each year the farm museum grows a patch of cane, with then is cut and processed into sorghum molasses, which is sold in the Country Store.
Also reigning over the festival will be the winners of the Country Fall Festival Pageant held earlier this summer. Those winners included the following: Miss Country Fall Festival Caroline Thompson, Teen Miss Maggie-Mikala Criste, Little Miss Queen Hannah Pope, Junior Miss Queen Anna Litchfield, Young Miss Queen Kylie Billings, Tiny Miss Queen Cassidy Wilson, and Wee Miss Queen Kabella Fisher.
Those with the farm museum stated they continue to hold the festival every year since it is a good fundraiser for the museum and it is also a way for the museum to give back to the community.
