Grace E. Thornton, 91, of Mason, passed away on December 11, 2012. She was born on May 9, 1921, daughter of the late Fred and Clara Rollins Bender.
Grace is survived by her step-children, William Thornton of California, Robert Thornton of Columbus, Ohio, Marsha (Wayne) Barnhart of Racine, Ohio; grandchildren, Teresa Coovert of Middleport, Ohio, Chris (Karen) Coovert of Kansas, Mike (Mandie) Coovert of Galloway, Ohio, Jennifer (Scott) Wilson of Racine, Ohio and Wayne (Gina) Barnhart of California; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Fred and Clara Bender, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Thornton Coovert.
The family would like to thank the staff of Overbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful staff and care for Mrs. Thornton.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Dayton Memorial Park. Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio.
The family is very thankful to Overbrook Nursing Center for their wonderful care for Grace.
