Eleanor Knapp, 85, of West Columbia, passed away at her home on Monday, December 17, 2012 with her niece at her side. She was born April 27, 1927, in Mason, County, a daughter to the late Fred and Edna Thess Icenhower. She was an homemaker.

Preceded in death, besides her parents, were her husband, Albert Knapp; sisters, Betty Bland, Lenor Dillard, and infant sister, Linda Knapp; and brothers, John Icenhower and Freddie Icenhower.

She is survived by her son, Dennis and (Pat) Knapp of Elyria, Ohio; and three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Deloris and (Don) Gorley of Westerville, Ohio, Lucille Davis of Middleport, Ohio, Jane and (Jim) Chaplin of Danville, Ohio; and brother, Charles Icenhower of Columbus, Ohio, and brother-in-law, John Dillard of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and her special niece, Carolyn Hoshar of West Columbia, and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.

At her request, there will be no visitation and her service will be held at a later date. The Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.

So sorry to hear of Eleanor passing. I grew up on the opposite corner from her and Knapper and loved going down to their old house and sitting on the porch with them when I was a little girl. I spent alot of time on the porch with them until they moved. She was a great woman to tell all your little school girl crushes to.
