Betty Sue Caudill Kauff, 79, of Point Pleasant passed away on December 18, 2012 at The Meadows of Maplewood assisted living facility in Bridgeport, W.Va.

She was born December 28, 1932, in Bladen, Ohio, to the late Trix and Cleo (Waugh) Caudill. Betty Sue lived most of her life in Mason County, W.Va. She was also preceeded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, John Richard (Jack) Kauff.

She was a 60 year member of Trinity United Methodist Church, working especially with the Methodist Women’s Association. She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, class of 1950. She was a life member of the Point Pleasant Alumni Association, the River Museum, the Ohio Geneology Society of Gallia County and help establish the Point Pleasant Artist Series and Battle Days Committee as an active member of the Colonel Charles Lewis Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution for over 50 years, she held many offices at chapter, district and State levels.

Betty is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joanna Marie (Jody) Alvarez, and Manuel Alvarez, III; grandchildren, Christen Alvarez, Manuel (Meredith) Alvarez, IV and Amelia Alvarez; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Alexandria Alvarez; and her dog Jack, all of Bridgeport.

A closed casket service will be held in honor of her request. Friends will be received at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, W.Va., with Pastor Robert Patterson officiating the service starting at noon. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant.
