Doris Elizabeth Scott, 90, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2012, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab Center in Point Pleasant. She was born on March 10, 1922, in Bracken County, Ky., a daughter to the late William Peed and Audra Jett Peed. She was a homemaker. She attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union of Gallipolis, Ohio, and was the Mission Director at the Wesleyan Church in Point Pleasant.

She is preceded in death, besides her parents, by husband, Lawrence Scott; brothers and sisters, Holbert Peed, Louise Peed Smith, Jean Peed Marsh, Billy Peed, Elsie Peed Grigson, and Hilda Peed Turner.

She is survived by her adopted son, Keith Ledford of Galax, Va.; and sister, Joyce Moffard of Maysville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on December 28, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Keith Ledford and Bob Issacs officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Flatrock. Friends may visit the family from noon until 2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
