Carroll Vance Sands, 78, of Pomeroy, Ohio, passed away on December 27, 2012, at Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center, in Pomeroy, Ohio. He was born on August 5, 1934, a son to Raymond Sands and Jessie Black Sands. He was a veteran of the US Army.

He was retired laborer from Amherst Industries in Henderson. He loved to work on automobiles in his spare time.

He is survived by wife, Movetta Williamson Sands; sons, David Sands of Pikeville, Ky, and Darrell Sands of Hartford; grandchildren, Darrell, Bo, Sarah, Taylor, Dakota, Ryan, and Destiny; brother, Louis Sands of Sherman; and sister, Kathryn Mullins of Diamond, Ohio.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, with Pastor Brett Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery North in Parkersburg.

Friends may visit the family from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the funeral home.
