Delano V. Jackson, 74, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his home.
Delano was born August 4, 1938, in Hogsett, to the late Byrd and Othelda Jackson.
Delano worked as a Painter for many years out of Painters Local #970, and in his later years he enjoyed spending time on his farm.
Besides his parents, Delano is preceded in death by his son, Delano V. Jackson, Jr.; brothers and sisters, Cybill DeNardo, Ottie Jackson, and Burdell Jackson all of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Betty Leonard of Point Pleasant.
Delano is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Nancy J. Bass Jackson; son, Monte (Lu Anne) Bass of Gallipolis, Ohio; a daughter, Gerri (Danny) Lee of Point Pleasant; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Birnadine (Richard) Shriver, of Lancaster, Ohio, and Rosetta (Don) Lewellyn of Mineral Wells; brothers, Bobby Jackson of Fla, and Johnny (Connie) Jackson of Pittsburgh, Pa. Also surviving is one brother-in-law, Danny DeNardo; one sister-in-law, Donna Jackson, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. Funeral services will beat 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with burial at Kirkland Memorial Gardens to follow.
