He was a United States Army veteran.
He was born Sept. 1, 1936 in Washington County, Ohio, son of the late Gale Pomeroy Leget and Susan Thelma Russell Leget.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Esther Leget; two sons and their wives, Michael and Renee Leget and Tony Gene and Bobbi Leget; grandchildren, Jacob Leget, Grace Leget, Laci Sayre and Ben Spears; sister, Drucinda (Kenneth) Cwodzinski; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lola Proffitt, Ray and Sheila Proffitt, Albert Proffitt and his friend, Pat, and Peggy Proffitt; nephews, Russell, Patrick and Timothy Cwodzinski and Bill, Jackie, Ray and Donnie Proffitt; niece, Linda Fisher; and special companions, “Skippy” and “Bandit.”
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9 at Anderson Funeral Home in New Haven. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, where military funeral honors will be presented by the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visiting hours will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service.
