Pinkney Norman Shirley, 50, of Leon, died June 11, 2009 of injuries sustained in an accident on State Route Two, south of Point Pleasant.

Born Nov. 11, 1958 in Leon, he was the son of Florence Elizabeth (DeVault) Shirley of Leon, and the late Harold R. Shirley, Sr. He was a crane operator for CSX Railroad and enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by daughter, Zakara Rae Nikol “Nikki” Shirley of Leon; brother, Harold R. Shirley, Jr. of Leon; sisters, Susan Knopp and Saundra Randolph, both of Leon.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., today, June 16, 2009 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Christopher Thomas and the Rev. Verlin Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Baden-Presbyterian Cemetery, Leon. Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m. on Monday.
