He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lisa Durbin Black; grandson, Addison Chelmer Benson; and three brothers, Bill, Paul and Bud Black.
Surviving are his children Lee Ann (Keith) Cook of Southside, Melissa (Scott) Fetty of Point Pleasant, Raymond Lee (Sandra) Black, Jr. of Henderson, Randy (Beth) Black of Point Pleasant, Joseph (Erica) Black of Gallipolis Ferry, Jason (Miranda) Black of Gallipolis Ferry; brothers, Jerry Black, Sr. of Apple Grove, Steve (Debbie) Black of Pennsylvania, James (Maggie) Black of Newark, Ohio and Butch (Suzie) Black of Gallipolis Ferry; sisters, Phyllis Robinson of Henderson, Wanda (Charles) Wray of Gallipolis Ferry, Ada Macy (Kenneth) Wray of Point Pleasant, Carla (Raymond) Wray of Apple Grove, Gloria Carroll of Point Pleasant, Clara Jo Shirley of North Carolina and Bonnie (Dallas) Stewart of West Columbia; and 17 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving is a very special friend, Martha “Cookie” Shaffer of Clipper Mills, Ohio.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 26 at Deal Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Fulton and Rev. Richard Lee Black officiating. Burial will follow at Greer Cemetery.
