Proposed Legislative Rules: affecting Licensed Professional Counselors; Marriage and Family Therapists; Bureau for Public Health: addressing fees for service, distribution of funds to local boards and Grade ‘A’ Pasteurized Milk; DHHR addressing the Nurse Aide Abuse Registry; Division of Motor Vehicles addressing the collection of tax upon the sale of a vehicle, and the Denial, Suspension, Restriction or Non-Renewal of Driving Privileges; Occupational Therapy addressing Administrative Rules for Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistants; Board of Osteopathy addressing licensing procedures for Osteopathic Physicians; State Tax Department addressing Consumer Sales and Service Tax and Use Tax and the Residential Solar energy Tax Credit will be reviewed by the Legislative Rule-Making Review Committee at 10:00 am in the Senate Judiciary CR; and
WORKFORCE Proposals : Russell L. Fry, Acting Director, WORKFORCE WV will present his proposals for the 2010 Legislative Session to the Legislative Oversight Commission on Workforce Investment for Economic Development at 3:00 pm in the House Government Organization CR.

Audit Presentation of the Office of Technology: Samuel Calvert, Senior Research Analyst, Performance Evaluation and Research Division of the Legislative Auditor’s Office will be presented to the Joint Committee on Technology at 11:00 am in the Senate Finance CR;
Boat Safety: Lt. Tim Coleman, State Hunting and Boating Safety Education Coordinator, WV DNR, and Chris Palmer, Commander, Huntington Marine Safety Unit, U.S. Coast Guard, will discuss the role of law enforcement in boating safety at 4:00 pm in the House Government Organization CR;
Proposed Legislative Rules: addressing WV Barbers and Cosmetologist involving a complete revamping and updating of the rules addressing all facets from licensing to discipline and complaint procedures; WV Insurance Commission affecting Mental Health Party, Viatical Settlements, and the WV Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association Act’s notice requirements; Div. of Water and Waste Management addressing the Solid Waste Management Rule and the Hazardous Waste Management System; and WV Division of Energy, Office of Coalfield Community Development addressing the assessment and real property valuation procedures will be reviewed at 4:00 pm by the Legislative Rule-Making Review Committee in the Senate Judiciary CR.

Presently only six out of fifty committee agendas have been posted. The agendas for all of the November Interim Committee meetings will be posted on the West Virginia Legislature’s official website, whose web address is listed below. On our website under “Interim Committee Meetings” click on “Meeting Schedules with Agendas.” There you will find a list of all of the committees and their agendas for this month.
If you have a question about a topic on a committee agenda or an issue that you feel needs to be addressed, please contact a member of that interim committee before the committee meeting, express your interest and concern and ask that legislator to present your question or issue at the committee meeting.
