POINT PLEASANT — Mason County recently welcomed its first baby of the new year.

Hannah Jo Page Huddleston was born at approximately 12:03 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2. She weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.

The proud parents are Leigh Ann Huddleston and Corey Page, both of Apple Grove. This is the couple’s first child, and both Huddleston and Page said that they were very excited. Hannah Jo’s maternal grandparents are Amy Huddleston and Robert Cottrell, while the paternal grandparents are Debbie Matthews and Charles Page.

Since Hannah Jo was the first baby born in Mason County in 2010, she will receive several items donated by area businesses. Prizes for the winning baby include two cases of baby formula from Pleasant Valley Hospital, a $200 gift package from Holzer Clinic, a Charlie’s Club Savings Account and $25 membership from Twin Oaks Federal Credit Union, an Oneida fork and spoon set from Sider’s Jewelers, a $10 gift certificate from Mason County Insurance, a $25 gift certificate from Peoples Federal Credit Union, a $50 savings bond from Peoples Bank and a $50 savings bond from City National Bank.
