He was born Mar. 12, 1933 in Buffalo; a son of the late David Gillispie and Elizabeth Ellen (Barber) Gillispie. Gordon attended the Wyoma Pentecostal Church at Gallipolis Ferry and had worked on the river.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Betty Jane Gillispie, Stella Eads, Mary Runion, Ethel Jeffers, Vina Johnson, Melvin Gillsipie, Carl Gillispie, Gilbert Gillispie, and John Gillispie.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Dunn) Gillispie of Gallipolis Ferry; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Gillispie of Gallipolis Ferry; one granddaughter, Katelyn Gillispie of Gallipolis Ferry; and one sister, Bessie M. Estep of Mason.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 29, at the Wyoma Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry with Pastor Roger Bonecutter officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
