Lewis Paul Durst, 77, of Point Pleasant, husband of Hisae “Rose” Durst, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at his home.

He was born on August 27, 1932, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Densil Dale and Cora Inez Durst. Lewis was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Jackson Avenue Baptist Church and had retired from Holzer Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Densil Edward Durst; and eight sisters, Catherine Miller, Margaret Hesson, Faye Wheatcraft, Garnet Hesson, Irene Reynolds, Erma Price, Nedra Johnson and Shirley Vance.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by one sister, Sally Smith of Point Pleasant; one son and a daughter-in-law, Paul and Carol Durst of Huntington; one daughter and a son-in-law, Susan and Joseph Nott of Point Pleasant; five grandsons, Jeremy and Trista Nott of Lesage, Robert Durst of Huntington, Jesse and Jessica Nott of Gallipolis Ferry, Eric and Jessica Durst of Huntington, and Joshua Nott of Point Pleasant; and two great-granddaughters, Joleigh and Jocelyn Nott of Gallipolis Ferry.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Joseph Nott officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant.
