Hartford adopts utility rate changes

NEW HAVEN — The Town of Hartford Sewer Department adopted an public utility ordinance on May 3, 2010.

The ordinance is a tariff, containing increase rates, tolls and charges for furnishing sewer service to 239 customers.

The proposed increased rates and charges will become effective July 1, 2010 unless otherwise ordered by the Public Service Commission, and they will produce approximately $12,600 annually in additional revenue.

The average monthly bill for the various classes of customers will be changed with an increase of 12 percent. They are as follows: residential, $5.88; commercial, $5.88; and industrial, $5.88.
