Minnie Mae Buck, 79, beloved wife of Rev. Charles Herbert Buck, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, June 4, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She spent her last days at her home in Grimms Landing.

She was born May 20, 1931, in Louisa, Ky., the daughter of the late John and Mary Skaggs Sparks.

Minnie was a devoted wife of 61 years who loved to quilt, cook for her family, sing in church and work in her garden. She was a member of Oma Chapel Community Church in Grimms Landing. She also taught her children and grandchildren how to love and care for one another and to always put God first.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Plessie, Allen and Lafayette Sparks; and two sisters, Anna Lee Hayes and Dixie Rigsby.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Charles Herbert Buck; sons, Herbert Leo (Mary) Buck of Point Pleasant, Frank Edward (Sandy) Buck of Columbus, Ohio, James Denver (Kay) Buck of Grimms Landing, and Steve Randal (Nancy) Buck of Gallipolis, Ohio; daughter, Carolyn Kay Buck-Farmer of Fredericksburg, Va.; brothers, Charlie (Shirley) Sparks, Daryll (Linda) Sparks, Connie (Sylvia) Sparks, and Johnny Sparks; sisters, Allie Mae Scarberry and Nancy (Steve) Blackburn; sister-in-law, Chloe Sparks. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, at Oma Chapel Community Church in Grimms Landing with Pastor Carl Bailes and Pastor Randy Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the Tucker Cemetery in Grimms Landing. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Monday, at Raynes Funeral Home in Buffalo.
