POINT PLEASANT — On Tuesday, the Mason County Board of Education met during the second day of school to further approve a list of personnel.

Approvals:

• The Board approved the following resignations: George Barr, Teacher, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High School; and Daniel Matheny, Sign Language Specialist.

• The Board approved the following list of employments: Kimberly Tawney, Teacher, LD/MI/BD, Alternative School; Ashley Regan, Teacher, Preschool Special Needs, New Haven Elementary; Anthony Toler, Teacher, LD/MI/BD, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High School; Thomas Murphy, Teacher, Math 7-12, Hannan Jr/Sr High School; Valerie Wolford, Teacher, Social Studies 7-12, Hannan Jr/Sr High School; and Lesley Dvosis, Teacher, LD/MI/BD and Math, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High School.

• The Board approved the following list of substitute professional personnel: Lydia Davis, George Barr, Denver Kerr, Doug Sturgeon, Kelly Thomas and Brenda Withers.

• The Board approved the following transfers: Janet Rowe, Teacher, Grade 3, Ashton Elementary to Teacher, Grade 5, Ashton Elementary; Shayla Blackshire, Teacher, Grade 6, Ashton Elementary to Teacher, Kindergarten, New Haven Elementary; Sherry Williamson, School Counselor, Wahama Jr/Sr High School to School Counselor, New Haven Elementary; Stephanie Morrow, Teacher, Grade 1, Point Pleasant Primary School to Teacher, Grade 5, Point Pleasant Intermediate School; Sylvia Hendrickson, Teacher, LD/MI/BD, Wahama Jr/Sr High School to Teacher, Grade 6, Point Pleasant Intermediate School; and David Rutherford, .5 Teacher, Social Studies, Wahama Jr/Sr High School to Teacher, Social Studies 7-12, Wahama Jr/Sr High School.

The next Board meeting will be held today, Aug. 26 at 4 p.m. at the Mason County Career Center.
