John H. ‘Jiggs’ Robinson

John H. “Jiggs” Robinson, 70, of Five Mile Road, Gallipolis Ferry, went home to be with the Lord at Holzer Medical Center on October 29, 2012. He was born on June 2, 1942, in Mason County, a son to the late John F. Robinson, and mother Lucille Doss Robinson. He was an electrician at Foote Mineral, was the former President of United Steelworkers Local #5171 of Hartford, was a lobbyist for labor rights for the Mason-Jackson Labor Council, and a little league baseball coach, and he was also an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War.

He is preceded in death besides his father, by two infant children, and one infant grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Robinson; his mother, Lucille Robinson; son, John Timothy Robinson; daughters, Stephanie Robinson and Melanie (Shannon) Kinnaird; grandchildren, Josie and Ryan Kinnaird, Nikki Landfried, and Cassie and Jeff Whaling; special children, Dalena Smith, Chad Fielder; and very special dogs, Pennington and Angel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at the Concord Baptist Church in Henderson, with Rev. Roger Bonecutter and Fred McCallister officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson Family Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry, with full military graveside services observed. Friends may visit the family from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
