Lucille Baxter Fowler entered the sleep of death on January 2, 2013. Born September 15, 1922, daughter of Pastor Wilbur S. and Garnet Plants Baxter, she was a 1944 graduate of Point Pleasant High School. She did secretarial work until her marriage in 1945. Her husband, Aaron, preceded her in death in 1989.

Lucille was converted and baptized at the age of 17 and was a teacher of adult Sunday School classes for more than 50 years. She was a member of Morning Star Advent Christian Church.

She was a member and past president of Pleasant Community Educational Outreach Services Club, past president of Mason County CEOS, charter member and past president of Quilts ‘N’ Things, Quilt Guild, and member of National AARP.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Isaac Baxter; brother-in-law, LaRoy Shaull; and a niece, Susan Shaull.

Surviving are a son, Gregory (Judy) Fowler; granddaughters, Wendy (Troy) Meadows, Amy (Edward) Painvin; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Joshua, Mackenzie, Samantha, and Noah; a brother, Ralph (Margaret) Baxter of Princeton; sister, Geraldine Shaull of Yale, Okla.; and three nephews.

She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Suncrest Cemetery to await resurrection at the return of her Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastors James Ellis, Jim Shaull, and James Balser officiating. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family from noon to 2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
