Ruth Hobbs, 81, Albany, Ohio, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013, at her residence.

Born February 24, 1932, in Greenview, she was the daughter of the late Virgil E. and Faye Brown Harper. She was a retired administrator for pre-school programs for the developmentally disabled, a member of Albany Baptist Church, Grange, and Senior Citizens of Albany and Harrisonville.

She is survived by children: Ann (Pete) Gibbs of Albany, Sharon (Larry) Vance of Albany, John (Jill) Hobbs of Gallipolis, Ohio, Jeannie Fields of Mason, Linda (Chuck) Allensworth of Columbus, Ohio and Danny (Judy) Hobbs of Albany; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings Roger Harper of Apple Grove, Zella Patterson of Letart, Carmen Writesel of Racine, Ohio, Jerry Harper of Racine, and Debbie Starkey of Gallipolis Ferry.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee W. Hobbs, and a son Terry Lee Hobbs.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday at Albany Baptist Church, 5331 State St. Albany, 45710, with Rev. Barry Bolin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Wells Cemetery.
